Details : Customer had given 2D drawings of old Submersible Pump. All pump parts such as upper & lower housings, adaptors are made of castings. Challenge was to use Resin and replace metal by plastics.
Milestone redesigned the parts and tested with 3 different resins. (Makrolon, Noryl & Delrin). Noryl GF3 grade was found best among those. FEA analysis was carried to check the stress levels and deformation. Results were found satisfactory.

Timeframe : 5 weeks.
